Go Home, Hillary.

Correction: A couple of days after the New York Times quoted Hillary as saying Gabbard was “being groomed by theRussians”, they were forced to issue a correction. What she had, in fact, said was that Gabbard was being groomed by the “Republicans” to run as a third party candidate. A “horse of a different color”, I would say, if red wasn’t favored both by Republicans and Russians.

…and take Bill with you.

Hillary Clinton has succeeded in distracting everyone from Donald Trump’s very, VERY bad week; so much so, that one could as legitimately ask if she is a Russian asset, as she suggested someone in the 2020 Democratic lineup might be.

What a waste of time.

Tulsi Gabbard assumes that she was talking about her, and perhaps she was.  Nevertheless, Hillary has only succeeded in breathing new life into Gabbard’s feeble campaign, so that she might rise from 1% to a higher single digit.

I actually heard voices on the Saturday morning talk shows opining that Hillary “must know” what she’s talking about since she’s had do much personal experience with Russian interference!  Pu-lease!

This is the kind of conspiracy theory rumor mill that wound-up Crazy Donald and the Donaldettes in the first place.  She of all people should know better!

What possible value did Hillary imagine her little sideshow would bring to the already fraught but critical process of selecting a viable general election candidate?

She’s slipping into her Bill’s habit of wrong-footing it into the limelight just in time to provide new talking points for her opposition.

With “friends” like these, who needs enemies.

By the way, who’s to say she WAS referring to Tulsi Gabbard?  Knowing Hillary’s center-right hawkish leanings, she could have just as well been referring to the current second lead, after her fav Joe Biden. ‘Talk about wrong-footed!  Joe’s been hemorrhaging money and credibility, and just can’t seem to make it right.

Enter: Hillary, being “helpful.”

If she has any sense remaining after the Republicans have bounced her around like a football for the past two decades, she should apologize for musing out loud, blame cold-meds or some other reality-altering substance; then return to her novel for the duration. She has well and truly worn-out her welcome.

  1. A few months ago, Lindsay Graham admitted that one reason he’s such a vocal supporter of Trump is that Graham desperately wants to be relevant. To be a player. To be in the game. Because what’s the option? Sit at home & wait (in vain) for the phone to ring? Boring.

I sometimes fear this hunger fuels so much of what we see on the public stage, including Hillary’s stumble (which you described above): people looking for some running room in the arena, some way to call attention to themselves and be seen again. I mean, what do you expect Hillary to do? Sit quietly at home in Chappaqua… write her memoirs… and then call it a day? Boring. So she steps back on stage & pulls a moronic stunt like this. … It must be hard for her to hit her former political stride when she’s been sitting on the bench for so long. 🙂

(Hope all is well w/you, Sue!)

    1. I’m hangin’ in here; a little stunned and disappointed with the 40% of my fellow Americans who apparently are still willing to be swindled by a vicious grifter like Trump.

I will gather myself to work for whomever the Dems finally anoint, but I pray they all resist the inclination to incinerate one another on the primary trail.

  2. Turns out the NY Times misquoted Clinton. She was saying that Gabbard was being recruited by Republicans.

Reports from today’s news: Gabbard is not to going to run again. The WSJ is also reporting that Gabbard is mulling a third-party run.

Do you have an update to your post? It looks like Clinton was correct in her original statement.

I think she did a fine job of pre-empting Gabbord’s run as a third-party candidate.

    1. Yes; thanks for the correction. Big difference!

We owe Hillary an apology. She said nothing misleading and was just offering a seasoned and rational observation.

I still think she and Bill should sit this one out as much as possible…Bill because he is so gaff-prone, and Hillary because her relationship with Trump is still too much of a distraction.

      1. She’s a terrific asset to the American people and can get under Trump’s skin like no others (excepting Pelosi, perhaps). I think she should have a strong public role, especially if it helps turn out the Democratic party vote.

She will forever remain the boogiewoman/she-devil to the Republican party and its RW media empire regardless of her involvement. Don’t let them dictate terms to her, or us voters.
