The NRA has jumped the Shark

If we truly cherish our kids, more than our money, more than our celebrities, more than our sports stadiums, we must give them the greatest level of protection possible. And that security is only available with properly trained, armed good guys.

LAPIERRE: The NRA is gonna bring all its knowledge, all its dedication and all its resources to develop a model national schools shield emergency response program for every single school in America that wants it. From armed security to building design and access control, to information technology, to student and teacher training, this multifaceted program will be developed by the very best experts in the field.

I call on Congress today, to act immediately to appropriate whatever is necessary to put armed police officers in every single school in this nation. And, to do it now to make sure that blanket safety is in place when our kids return to school in January.

Wow.

  1. Great.  Armed cop-types in every school in America.  Why don’t we just arm the kiddies and the teachers.  Hell, would have thought the NRA could have come up with something more imaginative.  Well, maybe as part of their ‘training’ program, they’ll teach kiddies and teachers and especially those armed security cops how to recognize a ‘suspected’ mental case and react with swift and deadly force.

I got an idea–All that nuclear waste?  Why not surround all the schools with a ‘radiation zone’ and issue spacesuits to the kiddies and teachers?

    SHIT.

  2. The NRA utopia is where everyone carries a gun, preferably an assault-style rifle, and everyone is shooting at each other all the time.  Imagine two or three shootouts on Church Street every day. That is the NRA’s idea of the 2nd Amendment.

Wayne LaPierre said, “Because 20 dead five year olds is just not enough!”

  3. where incidents have occured are proof it doesn’t work. Hopefully they are fired if there is an incident on their watch. For some reason, the guards seem to be asleep @ the switch or there isn’t a very good plan.
