  1. every campaign promise as well as foisting upon us bitterly opposed sweepinng legislation, his health care program, which I believe is unconstitutional, I will not likely vote for him again, if I vote for anyone at all.

That said, once again the alternative appears far more bleak. After my investigation of the Tea Party I have found it comes with built-in limitations which I see as much worse than anything we have now. Since taking the House, right has proceeded to once again display the typical nutjobbery. The fact that their nuclear ambitions exceed Obamas plus behavior during the present disaster in Japan takes them out of the running as far as I go.

However, I strongly disagree with your commentary, as it is is an overly broad generalization which appears to villify Obama & negate his acievements. Please. The man is no slacker. He is all he appears to be, this cannot be negated merely by your comments:

“Obama grew up in an era when the country was determined to assuage it’s guilt for earlier transgressions by overcompensating in the opposite extreme.”

“People of color were given jobs they weren’t qualified for, promotions they didn’t earn, and salaries above their pay grade, simply because we were compelled by law to consider race in our hiring practices, medical treatments, college applications, housing and mortgages, and every other aspect of business and education.”

So what? Each one of us deserve to be weighed on our own merits, regardless of any other circumstances. I also do not see problematic a black person undeservedly recieving something any more than a white person who has, if this is in fact true, why should this be any different? That said, Obama & his wife were & are hardworking & ambitious as well as accomplished in their own right. To say he, or she is undeserving of what they have recieved & accomplished is grossly unfair.

In contrast, Bush 43 did live the life of the priviliged & had much handed to him simply because of this. What did he ever do to earn any of it? And, he was a mere puppet that outsourced entire presidency to the old guard who caused the mayhem & misery which was handed to Obama on day one.

“Ironic that the very laws of affirmative action that were supposed to help us become colorblind as a nation forced us to consider race in absolutely everything we did in our daily lives.”

To hide in the safety of ‘we’ is also overly broad, I do not even know anyone who thinks in those terms. To consider race in everything one does in their daily lives is small, imho. I am grateful for what I have & could not care less what someone else has or doesn’t have.

“The result is a man who has never had to work that hard to be recognized as “exceptional.” He merely fit into that slot that required all those special dispensations to be handed to him by virtue of the fact that he was half-black, not rich, had a single mom, grew up with his grandparents, the list goes on.”

Commentary is not fact-based & entirely conjecture. You appear to extrapolate your position based upon widely held opinions of those opposed to civil rights advances & what has been presumed to be its downside.

Now, perhaps Barack Obama truly is an exceptional person in his own right. Would he have come so far without all of the extra handouts he had been given over the years? Because of affirmative action, we’ll never know.

What handouts? Aha, once again, ‘affirmative action’ is the culprit here, however You give no evidence of either.

“But in his mind, the fact that he won is no surprise, he’s won at just about everything else he’s done. He had the foresight after his first election failure in Illinois to hire the right people who then struck out to market him like a product, selling him to the masses like a new kind of cereal that would be all things to all people.”

How could anyone possibly know what goes on in the mind of another? We can’t, we can only judge & be judged by actions, behavior & words. Isolating him to villify for using plotical strategy is folly as one would then have to include all politicians, which would be pretty close to the truth.

I personally find this op-ed rather indidious. It evokes Rovian images & has a McClaughry-like feel. Just sayin.
