2). She's under investigation for abuse of power.
3). What? That's not enough?
This pick is the Harriet Myers of VP selections. This is absolutely hilarious.

And my joke yesterday was Mayor Lauzon as VP. Well, this should be interesting (as opposed to borrrrrrr...ing). Young black dude with old white haired dude; old white haired dude with young babe--is it the election coming up or the new TV season? Diversity, DC. Who'd of thought Americans would all have to go to Workshops before voting? What could Nader or McKinney do to top this shit?
All McCain has to do now is pledge to the American people that he'll die in office in two years. Then they've locked up the Undead vote.
Mayor Lauzon as VP
Man, I might have voted for that ticket, just to see what would happen... -In America the people fear their government; in France, it is the government that fears the people
Palin reminds me a lot of former governor Jane Swift of Massachusetts.
Which 1987 Tony Blair stump speech might prove so tempting?
Neil Kinnock, just sayin.'
-- Religion is like sodomy: both can be harmless when practiced between consenting adults but neither should be imposed upon children.
Wait wait wait...
The TWO main things that bother me about Palin is, first, that she has NO EXPERIENCE in foreign policy, and also that she said that she has not paid much attention to Iraq, AND that she....
OK... no, wait...
The THREE main things that especially bother me about Palin is that, incredibly, she has NO EXPERIENCE in foreign policy, that she has not paid much attention to Iraq, that her only budget experience is in dealing with Alaska's oil tax surpluses, and that she...
NO! Let me rephrase that.
The FOUR main issues about Palin that really, REALLY bug me are: no experience, not paying attention, that whole budget thing, the creationist beliefs, an almost fanatical devotion to denying women their reproductive rights, that smarmy hairdo, her hypocrital position on energy independence... (and on and on...)
One thing's for sure:
No one ever expected Palin for VP!
1. I knew Dan Quayle in the Senate, and from my initial impression, Palin is no Dan Quayle. Admittedly, that is setting the bar a little low. Yet, Quayle was vapid and shallow; by contrast, Sarah Palin actually seems to have accomplished some substantial things in a man's world. Her politics may not be mine, but I would caution against portraying her as an insubstantial, do-nothing;
2. It would be foolish to assume that Joe Biden will clean her clock in debate. I watched the 1976 campaign's foreign policy debate with the then-press secretary for Gerald Ford's National Security Council. This chap was a tad confident that Pres. Ford would totally dominate Jimmy Carter on foreign affairs issues, that is until Jerry Ford proclaimed "Poland is not under the domination of the Soviet Union." One could hear the air rapidly escaping from this WH aide's balloon of overconfidence; and
3. Finally, when Obama's folks rush to say that McCain's move takes the "experience" issue off the table, it seems to me that, somewhere between the lines, Obama's lack of experience was something that troubled them, too.
Palin might crash and burn; so, too, might Biden. Ditto McCain and Obama. Just don't underestimate her so early on.
Look at them all crawling out from under the rocks!
She's the Xena Warrior Princess of the Troll-people.
Surprise? First Two National Polls Find Palin Gains LESS Support from Women

NEW YORK The first national polls on John McCain's pick of Sarah Palin yesterday came out today from Rasmussen and Gallup -- and contrary to what the GOP probably hoped, she scored less well with women than men.
Here's a finding from Gallup: Among Democratic women -- including those who may be disappointed that Hillary Clinton did not win the Democratic nomination -- 9% say Palin makes them more likely to support McCain, 15% less likely. Nate Freeman Northfield, VT natefreeman@gmail.com
Sarah Palin's sister Molly married a guy named Mike Wooten who is an Alaska State Trooper. Mike and Molly had a rocky marriage. When the marriage broke up, there was a bitter custody fight that is still ongoing. During the custody investigation, all sorts of things were brought up about Wooten including the fact that he had illegally shot a moose (yes folks this is Alaska), driven drunk, and used a taser (on the test setting, he reminds us) on his 11-year old stepson, who supposedly had asked to see what it felt like. While Wooten has turned out to be a less than stellar figure, the fact that Palin's father accompanied him on the infamous moose hunt, and that many of the dozens of charges brought up by the Palin family happened long before they were ever reported smacked of desperate custody fight. Wooten's story is that he was basically stalked by the family.
And, most importantly...
After all this, Wooten was investigated and disciplined on two counts and allowed to kept his position with the troopers.
Here's what the Governor of Alaska did, starts about 45 seconds in:
She's even less qualified to be VP than the ribbon-cutter guy. And now we see she's a sleaze, too.
It's obvious you Dems are crapping your shorts over this pick, and I understand.
Not the deep thinkers, or people that are looking for ethics and morality in government, for sure, but the GOP hasn't had much to offer a deep thinker or an ethical or moral person since, well, Lincoln...
George W, the twice-elected (correction: once selected, once elected) empty-suit sociopath, showed us to never misunderestimate the scared venal stupidity of the American electorate. So I've believed all along that McCain will win in November.
At any rate, she obviously appeals to you, but you were voting for McCain anyway, right?
We have an opportunity to show a new face to the world, and Governor Palin's, as pretty as some might find it, is not it.
Besides, you have to vote for McCain to get it.
An unconscionable act.
